Details
Fare: $650 for up to 40 people (10 stationary four-person tables)
Duration: 1 hour of exclusive use and up to 30 minutes before and after for setup and clean up
Departure Location: The train only departs from the Nelson’s Crossing Depot
Availability: Available at 11:00AM and 2:00PM on select regular weekend excursion trains

Are reservations required?
Reservations are required for the Party on the Diner.
When is the Party on the Diner available?
Party on the Diner is available on select weekend excursion trains. This experience is NOT available during weekdays.
Can I decorate the Party on the Diner?
Yes, but please do not use tape, nails or anything that will cause damage to the woodwork, seats, windows, etc. on our historic equipment.
When can I decorate the car?
You will have access to the Party on the Diner for up to 30 minutes before your scheduled departure and 30 minutes after your arrival back to Nelson’s Crossing for setup and clean up.
Is the train handicap accessible?
Yes, the train is handicap accessible. Please email tickets@mrym.org to request handicap accommodations.
When should we arrive at the depot?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure.
I reserved tickets online, where do I pick them up?
Tickets can be picked up at the Nelson’s Crossing depot.
Are we allowed off the train during the trip?
Yes. The train will make a stop at the Wabash depot in Monticello.
Are restrooms available on the train?
No. It is recommended that you use the depot restrooms prior to your trip. Restrooms are also available at the Wabash depot.
Is the Party on the Diner air conditioned or heated?
The car is climate controlled.
How long is the train ride?
The excursion is approximately one hour in length.
What will pull the Party on the Diner?
One of our historic diesel locomotives.
