Illinois Central Gulfport The Gulfport was one of two cars built for the first lightweight Panama Limited in 1942 and is the only one to survive to this day. Illinois Central sold the Gulfport in 1968 and it became a fishing cabin of sorts beside Bee Lake in Mississippi. Another view of the Gulfport fishing cabin. In 2006 the Gulfport was moved via road to Monticello. Here the mover is getting ready to jack the car up and set his dollies for the move. Out on the road after a lot of trouble to get it this far. Getting ready for high iron (in this case the Interstate). No we're not going the wrong way, just following the directed truck route. At Monticello, getting ready to swap the rubber wheels for steel ones. Another view of the transfer process. The end result (for now) with trucks under car again Slide 1 Slide 1 (current slide) Slide 2 Slide 2 (current slide) Slide 3 Slide 3 (current slide) Slide 4 Slide 4 (current slide) Slide 5 Slide 5 (current slide) Slide 6 Slide 6 (current slide) Slide 7 Slide 7 (current slide) Slide 8 Slide 8 (current slide) Slide 9 Slide 9 (current slide)
